Winter in Chch has not been that harsh so far. We have had a few cold snaps and there are some great snow levels in the local ski fields. It's hard to believe when the city can have 16 degrees with daffodils poking out of the ground.

A picturesque views along Heathcote river which is right in our neighbourhood.

On mid winter's day, we ran up Mt Thomas which is located north west of Christchurch. It was a stunning day.

It was pretty chilly at the top with ice in all the puddles. No snow unfortunately.

A couple of weeks ago, we had a bad southerly pounding Canterbury giving us snow in central city! I was cosy in a cafe with friends, while Charlie was tackling the weather with Paul. They went biking up Mt Grey when the worst of the storm came through. Apparently Charlie was blown off his bike at the top of the mountain. Sounds like fun eh?

-Where are all the other bikers?

Last weekend, we made an excursion out to Godley head, where we could see the snow clad Southern Alps towards west.
Port Hills is full of single tracks amongst volcanic rocks. It is a great playground.
Looking into the inlet of Lyttelton harbour.

Hej Vonky-ponky!
