The weather was great, but the track were still muddy as, since we have had some really heavy rain fall in Canterbury in the last week. We were pretty much biking in a stream at one point.
It was a great initiative from Clare to get a group together to escape Chch. We had lots and lots of nice food and even more nice wine. Clare brought some samples of award winning wines which she got her hands on after been working at a wine competition. In the end we had tried at least 12 different kinds of wine: Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cab Sav, Chardonnay..you name it! I am amazed that we didn't get a hang-over the next day.
We thought that the hot pools would not be as busy when we entered at 7pm but it was chocka! Dinner got pretty delayed since we enjoyed the hot pools so much.
I finally got to try my new mountain bike properly!! We rode some f the track in the Dog stream reserve and it was sooo much fun! I had Charlie's world "Speed is your friend" ringing in my ears when I headed down some of the steepest sections.

Since we didn't get enough wine tasting on saturday night, we also sampled some more on the way back to Chch at Pegasus Bay Winey. What a great finish of a relaxing weekend. I felt so re-energised after the weekend. I think I needed to leave the city for a while and get some adrenaline rushing again!! I am ready for more adventures now.
