Autumn is here..it is freezing inside and often the outside temperatures are higher then the ones indoors. That is clear sign: kiwi winter is here. You can stay warm by doing more exercise, drink more or go to bed. I try to do all three in equal portions.
I was always used to having my brithday during spring...and as a kid, when the birthday is the highlight of the year I taught myself to love spring for that reason. Now, with the big day during autumn I actually have to admit to myself that I do like autumn more than spring..and this is not connected to my birthday, since I don't know if I want to get much older. I have lived 28 years lying to myself. I love autumn. The colours come out in this garden city, you get lovely crisp days with blue skies and it is just marvellous (as Kalus would say).
My birthday was great: lots of beer at the Twisted Hop, which is a really cool bar in Chch. I intended to invite a bunch of friends to my flat, but since we had a fairly large water leakage from the dishwasher a few weeks ago, which damaged the carpet pretty bad, I thought it is better to have it somewhere else, where I didn't have to clean up the mess afterwards.
Here were just a few of the buggesrs I managed to catch on photo:
Kat and Les- full of insults and nasties
It was good to see Maurice, who has office next to me at Landcare
Klausie (or Arnie -check out the muscles on the Austrian) and Alex (100% Barvarian)
A very boozed Charles and Ben, happy as usual
I wonder why drinking on a weekday is so much more fun than during the weekend? It feels a bit forbidden and it is intesreting to see if you can make it to work the next day. I managed and I even think I had a pretty productive day...but it might just be in my head.
Any more news? Hrm, I have taken the big step and resigned from Landcare. I'll stay til mid June, but after that I am hoping on a major change career wise. I haven't got it sorted yet what I will do, but I am not freaking out. The perfect job will come to me...I am sure. The power of positive thinking!
