The Easter bunny seems to be percieved as a big threat in New Zealand. I read about "More than 500 hunters bagged 21,000 rabbits and hares during last year's hunt in the hilly grasslands of the Central Otago region". This year I think they only reached 16,000. The pictures of piles of dead rabbits were a bit much for me. OK, they are a pest, but sometimes we should just embrace them and cuddle with them for a while until they give us chocolate eggs.
I have spent a lot of time with jonno and Claudia lately: two birthday parties in the name of Jonno (the big three zero!), first in Hamilton with a sport theme and then in Hanmer Springs.
Claudia also had her birthday and got a piece of the cake to share with Jonno.
Easter was also spent enjoying the beech forest in Lewis Pass. Julian, Jana and I went for a run up to Nina Valley hut.
