The true English experience

Charlie had enough of his work...already. He only started in March. It was time for some holiday. First he had time to break his arm and get half eaten by bears in BC, Canada, after which he headed for motherland England to have his mother cooking for him whilst he was able to winge about his arm.

He is a lucky boy...he broke the arm riding his bike on his last day in Canada and he never really realised that it had happened. Too many harden up pills I reckon :-)

His brother happens to be an orthopedic surgeon and he sussed Charlie out with the right contacts within the hospital in Oxford. What a lucky boy. He needed a few nails etc to hold him together and then he was ready to face adventures with me...we went to the Lakes District in the north west part of England. I am sure that the doctor would have been delighted to see him running around in the hills with me in pouring rain with his cast.

Dry and happy again

We had a wonderful time...the weather was shit, but that is a part of England isn't it? The rain made all the frogs have parties on the road and many of them didn't make it home that night...

During our tour down the country we met up with Charlie's friends in Sheffield. I think I got their approval...I paid them well. We visited some of Charlie's extended family in the otter sanctury. Most amusing or disturbing maybe was encountering a crazy adhd proned giant otter named Manoki.

I also became Manokinised!

Down in Oxford I met with the rest of the Bartletts, which entailed eating lots of delicious food and drinking nice wine. We escaped the rain and spent a whole day visiting the Duke in Blenheim Palace. Nice chap! Winston Churchill was born here. There is some trivia for you.

Weird shit in England:

Being a BIG Pippi Langstrump (Longstocking) fan, I found it most disturbing that "they" had rebranded her and made her into something strange...filthy. I was unhappy as you can see. This is the Pippi I remembered from reading all the Astrid Lindgren books as a kid:

I also found some other laughable items to buy. How about these beautiful pillows with lovely dog/human heads. In the end I couldn't choose. Charlie had to drag me away from the shop..empty handed. Now I have somethings to come back to.

After many lovely dinners with Charlie's family and friends, we thought it is time to search for a warmer place to go. Why not go to Spain for a few days?
